El taller impartido por el Centro de Extensión de la Universidad Católica del Maule certificó a 28 personas de diferentes edades y profesiones, quienes desde hoy cuentan con una nueva herramienta para sus vidas.
La Lengua de Señas es el sistema de comunicación utilizado por aproximadamente 80% de las personas sordas, para poder expresar de una manera sencilla, rápida y clara sus ideas y sentimientos. Consiste en la representación de frases, palabras o situaciones mediante movimientos determinados de las manos, acompañados de expresión oral, facial y corporal.
El Taller, fue ejecutado durante casi tres meses, por instructores calificados del “Club de Sordos de Talca” con clases prácticas de aprendizaje, que incluyeron exposiciones y trabajos individuales de los participantes.
Ángela Castillo, quien se certificó gracias al Curso de Lengua de Señas Básico A1 de EXT UCM, se mostró muy contenta con los resultados, pues ya ha podido usar esta nueva herramienta en su trabajo. “Yo soy matrona en el Hospital de Curicó y he atendido a niños y embarazadas con discapacidad auditiva ¡es muy emocionante el poder saludarlos y ver su carita de emoción cuando se dan cuenta de que les entiendes! Agradezco enormemente esta oportunidad de capacitación que, además, es gratuita y abierta a la comunidad”, comentó.
Dado al éxito e interés en este programa la Universidad Católica del Maule, a través de su Centro de Extensión Cultural, ha puesto en agenda la realización de una nueva instancia de capacitación a futuro.
Uno de los desafíos fundamentales que existen en nuestro planeta es lograr una inclusión verdadera y auténtica que aporte herramientas reales. Hoy, aportamos con este significativo granito de arena que esperamos contribuya en lograr una sociedad más justa y equitativa, en donde no existan segregaciones por condiciones de salud, género o niveles socioeconómicos. La equidad es tarea de todos y todas y este es nuestro modo de manifestarlo y ponerlo en acción.
